Dear Sellers,

Want to make sure your items are found in search results? Make sure to use all 14 tags in each item listing! The following tips should help you with this sometimes daunting task.

Guidelines & Tips: Tagging on Etsy

When hosting Newbie Chats and Shop Critiques in Etsy's Virtual Labs and I'm always linking sellers to this tagging article by HeyMichelle. It's a step-by-step guide will give you 13 ideas for good tags to help buyers find your item, and help it get featured. A great tip from Michelle:
Using Google's Keyword Tool or Yahoo's Keyword Selector Tool will help you generate a list of the most popular related search words and phrases. This involves a good amount of time and research, but can be a valuable tool to help create a list of the most commonly searched for words to use as tags.

Tagging for Maximum Exposure in Etsy Treasuries

Wow! I just bumped into this tagging blog post by the Etsy Treasury Team (our resident Treasury experts), on how to get maximum exposure and get found by treasury makers! From Etsy's Merchandising Desk: April Musings

Lou and Mary chat about upcoming spring themes in merchandising in this Etsy blog post. Check in and see what they're looking for for March and April! A good tip from Mary: If you make items that would fit well with the seasonal themes outlined, try stocking up and listing them in advance to take advantage of potential shipping deadlines. Do you already have items in your shop that meld well? That's great! Now it's time to revisit those items to make sure your tags, titles, and descriptions reflect key words shoppers might be looking for this time of year.
