I'm kind of a decorating fanatic (I admit it, so it's not so bad, right?), so I mix paintings and prints from Etsy with vintage pieces to add character to the mix. I'm currently obsessed with creating a wall of vintage portraits, be it painting, cabinet photography or prints. It clearly is award time at the moment. After announcing Burn Magazine's
grant and the "A Taste for Life Competition" within the last two weeks,
here is yet another one:

The Magnum Expression Photography Award was established by Magnum Photos
and HP with the goal of raising awareness and inspiring change through
campaigns using photography as an expressive medium. Its mission is to
discover and illuminate compelling documentary photography employed in
innovative ways to affect social awareness and propel humanitarian
compassion.

The inaugural theme for the award is Communities.

Etsy News: CEO Maria Thomas Talks Shop, New Recently Listed Items Site Feature, Seller Web Analytics Chat

Etsy's CEO Maria Thomas posted a "Talking Shop" article with a review of 2008, thoughts about the current state of our marketplace, and news about upcoming priorities. Details here: http://www.etsy.com/storque/article/3528 Recently, Etsy launched Etsy Shop Web Analytics. 20,000 sellers have currently opted into this feature, which allows them to track activity in their shops. Since the tool is quite complex and powerful, Etsy admin Tom Kutty and Etsy Google Analytics advisor John Mentgen will be hosting a seller chat in the Virtual Labs' Classroom on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 6:30pm EST. Tom and John will give a brief intro and answer questions, and we also ask sellers to share their insights in using Web Analytics.
