There can be a natural lull in sales after Mother's Day, so don't panic! Instead, get even. Er... I mean, get prepared. Take this time to work on new designs, put a promotional plan in place, or prepare for the fall or even the holidays. Here are some tips to get you thinkin'. . .
Get Found
If you have a little time on your hands, spend it reaching for those Google search results! Over the past several months, we've implemented a series of changes to improve Etsy's SEO (search engine optimization); and you can improve your specific shops SEO too! Check out Lauren's, aka StellaLoella, post on how to optimize your shop for search engines here.
Read up on Google Base (a great way get found through Google Product Search), too!
Stock Up!
Hitting the craft show circuit this summer? Make sure you get an early start on your stock. And don't forget to have business cards, postcards or some kind of little promo to bring your craft show shoppers over to your Etsy shop. Some people like to browse the show and then do their real shopping online (I know I do)! Etsy has teamed up with Moo to bring you a special on MiniCards, buy 1 pack of MiniCards and get the 2nd pack half price. Click here to get started creating promos from the images in your Etsy shop.

Get Prepared!
Did you know magazine editors are looking for fall fashion and Halloween items to feature now? Better get on it! I found this great magazine submission article on NubbyTwiglet.com (great name, right?) with tips on submiting to magazine editors. Also check out HandmadeMarketing.org for a great piece called Make Your Own Press. For even more media outreach ideas, check out this post on creating your own press releases.
How do you keep busy? Send me your tips and I'll share them with the Etsy world!
Best,
Daniellexo
