This is an exciting week here at Etsyland: we've launched a new Etsy Facebook fan page and a My Etsy app, our brand new Help section is providing easier ways to get you answers quickly, and we're gearing up for the holiday rush! Read on to see how you can kickstart your holiday sales... Promote Your Holiday Sales Etsy will be promoting two site-wide tags that link to search results for holiday promotions. To make sure your items show up in these searches, tag each of your designated items with one or both of these tags. Free Shipping: Sellers offering any type of free shipping promotion should tag the items offered with the term "EtsyFreeShipping." Etsy Holiday Sale: Sellers offering ANY type of promotion throughout these dates should tag relevant items with the term "EtsyHolidaySale." Remember to explain how your promotion works in your item descriptions and shop announcements! Tips from DiffractionFiber Last week Beth, a.k.a. DiffractionFiber, shared her best tips for your Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotions. Beth's biggest tip? "Mark down ALL your listings before the sale starts, I do this on Thanksgiving night when I’m recovering from my turkey coma. That way customers can buy and pay and they aren’t waiting for revised invoices or refunds or anything. It makes their life easier, it makes your life easier." You can read all her notes here. This app not only provides a great way to share your Etsy shop and Favorites with your Facebook friends, but also lets you include a feed from your own blog and will alert you and your friends when your item is featured on Etsy's home page or in a Gift Guide.
