Back in 2004 I purchased an old fix-'er-upper in Pittsburgh, PA. Memories of my former home were awakened when I stumbled upon design duo Paul Roden + Valerie Lueth of Tugboat Print Shop's detached row house, as they were once practically my neighbors. This weekend's featured Get the Look: Decor functions as the couple's studio, storefront and printing and framing shop while retaining the warmth and homeyness of a well-built 100-year-old home. When it comes to decorating, Paul and Valerie say they're "mostly old-timey and folksy with a dash of modern flair. We like old, heavy furniture that lends itself well to being used in a studio environment — pieces that are natural and sturdy, made of earthen materials (wood, fabric, clay, glass, metal, etc.) and are not so precious and unmarred that they can't take a little daily workout."
