In our Etsy Open Studios group on Flickr, I've seen everything from expansive solo studios to cramped crafting nooks. Either way, you have to make it an inspiring place to work. ShoshonaSnow's ceramics have black and white, bold repeating patterns with splashes of vivid color. I can see that in the look of her studio space too. The process of decorating your studio may help you refine your work's aesthetic.
Ponyparty's clipboards on the wall are an effective, modular way to visualize your ideas and move them around.
mlee moved into a smaller studio but says it keeps her "focused." Keep organized by hanging your tools on a wall. Jodee Ruppel, Home Organization Guru, makes this suggestion for visualizing your new studio setup: "A good trick is to take a picture of the space, print it out on paper, then draw your dream vision over the picture."
