I didn't start drinking wine until my mid-twenties, and at that point I tended to focus on the boxed variety. I eventually graduated to bottles, learning to tell the difference between a nice Bourdeaux and a bottle of Boone's Farm. This weekend I'm heading out to the San Francisco Bay Area for a long vacation through the Napa and Sonoma valleys with at least a dozen vineyards on my agenda.
