| March 30, 2010 Hello friends, Changes are afoot at Etsy. As we widen the site, refresh the look and feel and roll out new features, you'll often notice things looking a little different. We wanted to give you a heads-up ahead of time before our next series of updates. | Simplifying Search | Many people find the search bar on Etsy confusing, and they don't realize that the search bar changes as you navigate to different areas of the site. This week we're beginning a series of updates to Etsy's search bar designed to eliminate this kind of confusion. The end result will be a simple, powerful search field with a clearly labeled "Search" button.
First, we're going to make the search dropdown menu impossible to miss. We want to make sure visitors understand the current setup. This update is scheduled to take place today. | Euro Week Recap | Last week, we celebrated Euro Week at Etsy, highlighted by the grand opening of our new office in Berlin and the launch of our German and French language blogs. | Coming Soon to Etsy | New Treasury Last week, the Etsy Community Council was given access to a new version of the Treasury, called Treasury East. Treasury East has no limits -- no limit on the number of Treasuries allowed, no limit on the number of Treasuries per user, no limit on the lifetime of Treasuries, no limit on the number of comments allowed! Treasury East will eventually replace the current Treasury. It will be made available to the wider Etsy community soon as a beta feature. Wider Home page We are giving the home page of Etsy a fresh new look. It will be wider, cleaner and faster to load. More details are coming soon. | |
