| | August 12, 2010 I came across Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir, Eat, Pray, Love, while browsing my neighborhood bookstore in the summer of 2006. I devoured the book in one night and returned the next morning to pick up three more copies to give to friends. Something about Gilbert's travels to Italy, India and Indonesia, her intimate voice, and her love of carbs resonated in a way that I wanted to share. With the movie coming out, I was inspired to re-read it with a different lens, having absorbed much of the lavish praise and heavy-hitting criticisms sent its way since the book was released. I have to say that I still loved it.
