Make a Transformer Envelope-Bag

With the holidays nearing, the time has come for thinking about clever, memorable, and eco-friendly ways to ship gifts to friends and family — you know, packaging that will really do your handmade gifts justice! This week's How-Tuesday post offers an ingenious solution with instructions on how to make your own mailing envelope that can be flipped inside out to reveal a ready-to-go tote bag. It's a mailing envelope and a tote bag all in one, perfect for not only safely sending your presents through the mail, but in fact a present itself!

Textile Arts Center Studio Rental A Home for Fiber Artists

Last week we hosted a to-dye-for Craft Night with the people behind the Texile Arts Center. (If you missed it, check out the photos.) The beautiful TAC is located in Gowanus, Brooklyn, and its main goal is to provide support to fiber artists, and everyday kids and adults interested in working with fiber, by acting as a gallery, resource facility and creative meeting place.

They have recently announced an affordable private studio rental program for textile artists and designers. Deadline to apply is December 5. To get a taste of their classes, check out the holiday gift workshops.
