Last weekend I spent a rare moment away from Etsy's Berlin office and biked over to the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin's natural history museum. The beautiful museum has been in operation for 200 years, and has over 30 million objects in its zoological, palaeontological, geological and mineralogical collections. Some of its pieces, like the fine feline pictured above, are even older than the museum. 
As a great lover of dated dioramas, I nearly peed my pants at a few of the elaborate collections assembled here. Of particular skill was an urban bird scene, which featured copulating sparrows, trash from the DDR, more than two instances of cannibalism, and many a bloodied bird. If you are ever in Berlin, the Museum für Naturkunde, like the Etsy Labs here, is a must see.
