Before I get to my three last tips of 2009, I must correct something. In Tuesday's email I mistakingly linked you to an old Sellers Assisting Sellers Forum thread. Here is the latest thread with the most current list of Sellers Assisting Sellers and their specialties.

. Question Your Comfort Zone
What assumptions are you making about your business that could be dead wrong? (Or at least need a little shaking up?) Ask yourself the tough questions and see what kind of answers present themselves! Here's a great blog post by Etsy seller, Yoola, about stretching your boundries.

. Take Inventory
How many items did you list in your shop this year? How many sales did you make? What kind of feedback did you receive from your customers? How many visitors did your shop receive? How much money (and time) did you spend on marketing and advertising your shop? What other questions are you asking yourselves, sellers?  Let me know in this Forum thread! Set realistic goals for 2010 once you have taken a complete inventory of 2009.

.Proof Your Shop
Go through your profile, shop announcement and item descriptions with a discerning eye. Run these selections of text through a word processing program that has grammar and spell check tools. If you need help in this area (as I do) sign up for Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips. She'll share tips to help you remember things like the difference between affect and effect. (More tips on Writing for an Online Audience here.)

Happy New Year!
