| | June 4, 2009 Hello friends, Summer has arrived and it's time to get out and get your craft on! We hope to run into you at one of this weekend's many events. June 6 + 7: The Renegade Craft Fair hits Brooklyn, NY!  The fifth annual Renegade Craft Fair will take place from 11am - 7pm in McCarren Park, Brooklyn. Over 300 artists are traveling from all over the country and abroad to participate and sell their handmade goods: from clothing and accessories, to stationery and concert posters, with everything from bath products and ceramics in between. This year's Brooklyn fair drew over 400 applications and promises to offer something for everyone! Be sure to also stop by Etsy's booth (#219) and say hello to our friendly Etsy admins.
The {NewNew} POPs up at 93 Nevins  The {NewNew} Etsy Team , will participate in this year's Atlantic Art Walk (on June 6 and 7) in Brooklyn, NY. They will be highlighting artists that use environmentally-friendly materials in their creations. This event is located at 93 Nevins Street - reclaimed from a building derelict for 20 years, this new townhouse was created with the idea to be as green as possible.
Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour of open artist studios and area exhibitions, a range of public art projects, special events, with local merchants hosting a range of artwork and events. This Team Pop-up Shop shop will be open on both days of the Art Walk to give you a taste of the variety of handmade items that are created in the local community. See you there!
This Week at the Etsy Labs  Sunday, June 7th. 2-6pm ET – The Church of Craft meets at the Etsy Labs on the first Sunday of every month. This month's meeting will be the usual casual drop-in affair. Come by any time (between 2-6pm), bring anyone, bring anything you are working on, or come and just check out what everyone else is up to. Snacks are welcome.
Monday, June 8th. 4-8pm ET – Come make paper puppets with us— whether you're in Brooklyn or anywhere in the world.
