I'm totally in love with Google Docs right now! (I'm a big dork, I know.) I absolutely abhorred math class in high school; now, 15 years later, I'm geeking out on formulas, ratios, and graphs. Who knew? So for those of you who are geeks like me (or those who need a little push), I've put together some free resources to help you chart your Etsy success.

How-To: Download your Sales and Billing Data to a Spreadsheet

.

Did you know you can download your sales information to your computer in CSV format? Check out this article for all the details. Once you've downloaded this information you can start a spreadsheet; I recommend the free and fabulous Google Docs. Quickly find out all the details about your transactions with a few simple clicks!

The Numbers Game: Ratios and Your Shop's Inventory

.

Want to find out if there are certain products in your shop that sell faster than others? Do the prices of certain items influence their speed of sale? JJMFinace gives us a lesson in inventory turnover ratio in this helpful blog post, The Numbers Game.

The Art of Pricing: Understanding Your Costs

.

Figuring out how to price your items can feel like the most challenging part of selling. Don't worry, it's normal to feel a little overwhelmed. Fancy business schools devote full semesters to this subject. And the one thing they teach? There is no magic pricing formula. Fortunately, pricing is more of an art than a science, and Etsy is full of great artists. To come up with the right formula, don't reinvent the wheel. You can find a great introduction to pricing theory in the Storque's Art of Pricing Series, I suggest starting with Understanding Your Costs.

Accounting Help

.

Are you completely at a loss when it comes to creating a spreadsheet to help keep track of your business? I did a quick search for spreadsheet on Etsy and returned 46 results! I'm a big fan of using your time wisely, so if you would rather be creating, why not invest in a ready-made spreadsheet? Ready to go to the next level? Contact your local small business help center and ask for tips on finding an accountant for artists. Investing in an accountant's services can save you time and money in the long run!

Happy calculating,

Danielle
