Hi Sellers! We've got a guest writer for today's Etsy Success, but first a quick reminder that our first Search Engine Optimization Virtual Lab with Rand Fishkin of SEOMoz will be tomorrow, Friday August 14th at 4pm EDT. Rand will provide an understanding of SEO tactics, give tips to increase your Etsy Shop's visibility in search engine results, and take questions. OK, on to today's email!
You dedicate lots of time, love, and energy to your craft, using quality materials, originality, and attention to detail. Why do anything less when creating and maintaining your Etsy shop? Your shop is your window to the world — make sure you are putting your best face forward!

.1. Who Are You, Anyway?
Your Etsy shop is loaded with great products. But is it loaded with great information about you and your business? Part of the process of buying handmade is knowing from where and whom your purchase is coming. This article has tips for your Shop Policy, and this forum thread has some great ideas for servicing your customer. Our Seller FAQs section has answers to all your shop setup questions.

.2. Your Top Three Products
Ever notice the three photos that show up next to the avatar on Favorites lists? They are the first three featured items in your shop. Many Etsians love to shop by searching through other members' lists of Favorite Sellers. Make sure these items represent you well, or you may miss out on your audience. Learn more about featured shop items here.

.3. It's All About The Photos
Images are your most powerful tool as a seller. Luckily, Etsy offers sellers many opportunities to display photos throughout your shop. Take your "good" photos a step further and ask yourself if they are living up to their potential as important marketing tools for your shop. This forum post from BeforeOurTime covers the best type of lighting to use in your pics.

Happy Selling!
