This weekend's Get the Look: Decor is inspired by the baby nursery of Carrie and Anthony's newborn daughter, Isobel. Carrie describes her Modesto, California home as an eclectic blend of vintage, modern and natural elements. She draws inspiration from the simplicity of mid-century modern decor and memories of her Aunt Millie's home where nothing had changed since the 1950's and 60's.
Carrie admits that the first place she looks when searching for new art or home items is here on Etsy, and she's proud to have an extensive list of favorites to shop from. She also loves to shop at flea markets, thrift shops and estate sales.
Isobel's baby nursery really stood out to us since it was filled with elements that had meaning to her parents, rather than pink and blue accessories that were purchased from a department store shelf. Vintage toys and reused furnishings, mixed with handmade linens and artwork, give the room a meaningful touch that creates the perfect introduction between parent and child. It also exposes Isobel to things her mommy and daddy like and find interesting.
