Photos really are they most important part of your listing. Next week we're holding a week of Photo Tip Workshops in the Virtual Labs, so I thought I'd get you a few photography tips early!

In Pursuit of the Right Camera

.You'll find tons of camera suggestions on the Etsy Forums. I've narrowed down some suggestions for you (all these picks are under $150). GirlSavage suggests Kodak EasyShare V803: "Very user friendly, nice macro, plus all the light settings you could need." ladyncats likes the Fuji Finepix 10MP. "You can start out as a point & shoot using the auto setting & work your way to more complicated settings. Pleaseblossomstudio votes for the Canon Powershot. "I have the A590 IS. It was $113.00 brand new. I absolutely love it." The general consensus? If you are looking for a camera for online product photos, just make sure you have at least 4-6 megapixels and a macro mode.

Daniellexo's Top Photography Tip

. .Here it is! My #1 of all time, most important, top, favorite, paramount (I think you get my point by now) photo tip: Use natural light and turn off that flash!

LittleBirds agrees with me, and shares a great example on her blog. The first photo on the left was taken with flash, the second in natural light. Now, won't you join me on my anti-flash quest?

Make the Cut with Cropping

.Doodlage has a key tip for you on MyHandmadeRegistry, and it comes with some great examples!
"There's one little tool in your image editing software that you need to become fast friends with. It's called a cropping tool and not many people are very familiar with it. Nonetheless, I suggest you get to know it really well, because it can help you to make the best of your product images in mere seconds."
