Here's an update about site features we've been working on at Etsy.
The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) improvements we told you about at the beginning of September are now live. Our Engineering and Product Teams also thrilled us with a new tool for sellers. As you make or edit listings, you can preview what your search results will look like in Google. Magic! Read more about this here.
In related news, check out the new Etsy Guide to SEO. This PDF, authored by our consultants at SEOmoz, is full of tips for enhancing your shop's search results on the web. SEOmoz's Rand Fishkin will be hosting a number of Virtual Labs Workshops to walk sellers through the guide. Download the PDF and see the workshop schedule here. Please keep in mind that SEO is an evolving process, so we may be updating the PDF in the future. We'll make sure to keep you in the loop!
We've also been focusing on the Checkout process in an effort to make it a smoother, more intuitive experience for shoppers. Today, we are rolling out this modified Checkout to 10% of our traffic. This enhancement to Checkout strips out unnecessary elements and makes it easier for a buyer to check out. We're rolling it out to a limited segment of our traffic just so we can make sure it improves the shopping experience, and if so, we'll roll it out to everyone. Details can be found here.
