May 20, 2009 Hello Etsy folks, Things have been busy this week in Etsyland. We've compiled a number of news items in this email digest. Scheduled Site Maintenance 5/25/09 — Reminder: Etsy.com will be down from 2-8 a.m. ET this coming Monday. See the full post here. The Etsy Community Council — Matt (Etsy Community Admin) announced that we are forming a council of Etsy sellers with whom we will meet on a regular basis. This is part of Etsy's ongoing mission to communicate with our sellers and hear their valuable input. Read more this pilot program and apply to participate here. Etsy Shopper Survey — Are you an Etsy shopper? Take Etsy's shopper survey and help us "get to know you." If you're a seller and you also shop on Etsy, you are welcome to participate as well. Reminder: The survey closes this Friday, May 22, 2009. Learn more here. Etsy's Trademark Guidelines — SarahSays (Etsy's in-house legal counsel) announced clarifications to Etsy's Trademark Guidelines and existing policy around the use of Etsy's marks. (This is not a policy change — just our translations of the legalese!) Details and link to the Guidelines can be found here. Etsy Seller Survey: Shipping Address and Order Management — If you're a seller, please take this quick survey regarding shipping procedures and notifications about sales. The results will inform our planning for seller tools. Learn more. Sort Search Results by Most Relevant — Shoppers now have the option to sort their results by relevancy. Now, more than ever, sellers' listings should have thorough and accurate tags, titles, descriptions, and materials. Find out more. Filter Search Results by Ship to Country — We've launched another improvement to Etsy's Search. Shoppers can now choose to only see items that can be shipped to specified locations. Learn more here. Etsy Summer Tour 2009: Coming Soon — Various Etsy Admin will be traveling to events this summer, and we wanted to give you a heads up.
